Tottenham starlet Mikey Moore announced himself in German football with a promising performance off the bench, although it was an evening to forget for Koln.

Koln completed the loan signing of Moore in the final days of the transfer window after Spurs had rejected permanent offers for the attacker earlier in the summer.

The 19-year-old, who had an outstanding loan spell at Rangers last term, featured in Tottenham’s first two league games of the season, starting against Brentford and coming on as a substitute against Newcastle.

In fact, De Zerbi admitted that he would have liked to keep Moore at Spurs, but confessed that the teenager needs regular game time to fast-forward his development.

Tottenham starlet Mikey Moore picks up assist in Koln debut

Moore came on as a half-time substitute for Koln on Friday at Stuttgart as the home side cruised to a 4-1 victory.

However, the Spurs academy graduate looked extremely dangerous, having multiple shots and creating several openings, eventually setting up Ramon Hendriks for a tap-in with a ball across goal in the 81st minute.

According to journalist George Sessions, Moore had two shots, created two chances and had 22 touches in total in his debut.

Moore looks set to play as a number 10 for Koln

The 19-year-old has exclusively featured as a winger whenever he has played for Tottenham, and that was also the case at Rangers last season.

However, Moore operated as a number 10 in his Koln debut and looked completely at ease and much more involved in the game.

The youngster had the freedom to drift across the pitch and pick up the ball in different areas, and he looked much more threatening as a result.

Moore does have the qualities to be a top-class number 10, and it will be fascinating to see how he develops in that position this season.
