One of the biggest names in the world of sport has showered praise on Tottenham’s Pedro Porro following his heroics at the World Cup.
The World Cup has a distinct Tottenham flavour to it once again as it approaches its climax, with Spain booking their place in the final on Tuesday and now awaiting their opponents.
A Spurs player is guaranteed to win the World Cup for the third consecutive time, as all three sides left in the tournament have at least one Tottenham representative.
Pedro Porro is now one step away from guiding La Roja to their second title, while England’s Djed Spence and Argentina’s Cristian Romero (and Marcos Senesi) are set to lock horns at the Atlanta Stadium in the second semifinal this evening.

Porro made a crucial contribution in ensuring La Roja reached the showpiece final, helping his side keep another clean sheet and scoring his second goal of the tournament as the Spaniards emerged 2-0 winners over France.
It was a dominant performance from the right-back, who was out of the team at the start of the tournament and has stepped up at the business end, and he is now receiving plenty of accolades.
Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, who has spent 66 weeks as the ATP’s number one-ranked player in the world, has now joined in the praise for the Tottenham man.
The 23-year-old, who has won seven majors, commented: “You are a beast” on Porro’s Instagram post.
Porro hailed by his Spurs teammates
Alcaraz was joined by many of Porro’s Tottenham teammates in the comments section of the post, including Xavi Simons and new Spurs signing Mateus Fernandes, who sang his praises.
Xavi simply wrote: “MVP” under the right-back’s post, while Fernandes commented: “Go for it, hitman.”
Micky van de Ven, Kevin Danso, Richarlison and Dominic Solanke all reacted with various emojis after they saw their teammate deliver a Man of the Match performance in the semifinal.
