Yves Bissouma is attracting interest from multiple Premier League clubs after leaving Tottenham as a free agent this month.
The Mali international hardly got any game time last season due to a combination of injuries and being overlooked by Thomas Frank.
On Wednesday, Tottenham confirmed the departure of Bissouma following the end of his deal, with the club deciding against taking up the option to extend his deal by one year.
The 29-year-old’s exit did not come as a surprise, but he may be set for a shock move after leaving the North Londoners.
Brighton considering re-signing Yves Bissouma after Tottenham exit
Journalist Dimitris Manakos has now suggested that the midfielder could be set for a return to Brighton as a free agent this summer, four years on from his move from Amex Stadium to Spurs.
With Pascal Gross also having left the South Coast club before being resigned, Brighton are considering a similar reunion with Bissouma this summer.
While the Seagulls have not made contact with their former player, the idea is ‘on the table’ at Fabian Hurzeler’s side. Bissouma is also on Coventry City’s radar following their promotion to the Premier League.
Manakos wrote on X: “Yves Bissouma could be heading back to Brighton this summer… as a free agent! Just like Pascal Gross, who left and then returned to the Seagulls, a reunion is being considered internally at Brighton.
“No contact has been made yet, but the idea is on the table. Bissouma is also on Frank Lampard’s shortlist at Coventry City as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.”
A Spurs centre-back could also be on his way to Brighton
Bissouma may not be the only player to move from Tottenham to Brighton this summer, with one young centre-back potentially in line to follow the experienced midfielder.
Over recent hours, it has emerged that Brighton have launched a £30m offer for Spurs youngster Luka Vuskovic.
Their interest in the Croat comes at a time when talks between Tottenham and Brighton are accelerating over a deal for Jan Paul van Hecke.
