Lucas Bergvall has no shortage of suitors after expressing a desire to leave Tottenham, but not everything reported about the midfielder’s future over recent days is true.

The Swede has informed Tottenham that he wants to leave the club in search of regular game time after struggling for starts under Roberto De Zerbi and seeing Spurs pursue big-money midfield additions this summer.

However, the Lilywhites have no intention of letting the youngster leave on the cheap. Reports indicate that Spurs are demanding £45m for Bergvall, which would represent around a 300 per cent profit on the fee they paid to Djugardens two and a half years ago.

As many as seven clubs around Europe have expressed an interest in the Tottenham midfielder, who looks set to be the subject of a major transfer battle.

Bayern Munich are not interested in Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall

A few days ago, it emerged that Bayern Munich were monitoring Bergvall’s situation closely after hearing about the 20-year-old’s desire to seek a new challenge.

However, this has been dismissed by journalist Christian Falk, who has asserted that the Bundesliga giants have sent a clear signal that they will not be pursuing the Tottenham midfielder.

Reacting to the speculation linking Bergvall with a move to the Allianz Arena, Falk said on FC Bayern Insider: “It is not true. FC Bayern are not interested. I don’t know where the rumours are coming from!

“I’ve had a clear signal from the club that they are not following the Sweden international. An interesting player, but not one for Bayern Munich at this point in time.”

Several Premier League clubs want Bergvall

Chelsea and Aston Villa are long-term admirers of Bergvall, having explored a move for the Sweden international back in January.

Over the last few days, some sources have suggested that Nottingham Forest have now entered the race to sign the Spurs starlet.

In fact, it has been asserted that Forest have already held talks with the 20-year-old Tottenham star regarding a possible switch to the City Ground this summer.
