Tottenham Hotspur are now set to face competition for Cody Gakpo from a fellow big‑six rival, with only a week remaining before the summer transfer window slams shut.
The final week of the summer transfer window is set to see plenty of movement in north London as Tottenham Hotspur look to get several deals over the line.
So far, moves for Manchester City pair Savinho and Omar Marmoush are close to being finalised, with Tottenham said to have agreed on an £85m deal for the Brazilian while a loan agreement has been reached for Marmoush.
Still, Tottenham remain in the market for another winger, with Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo top of their list as they continue to reshape their squad this summer.

Tottenham have long been in the race for Gakpo, but have yet to reach an agreement with Liverpool, who are not keen on letting the Dutchman leave Anfield without securing a replacement.
The Lilywhites even sent in a £60m bid for the 27-year-old, according to reports from earlier this summer, an offer that was swiftly rejected by the Reds.
However, with a few days left before the summer window slams shut, Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Spurs are set to face competition for Gakpo.
It is understood that fellow top-six rival, Manchester City, are also keen on landing the Dutchman this summer.
City are said to have started talks, while Tottenham remain in active discussions for Gakpo after having agreed personal terms with the versatile forward.

Of course, City entering the race for the Liverpool man is far from ideal for Tottenham, as their interest could see Gakpo’s value increase.
However, Spurs have already shown this summer that they can beat the big clubs to the signature of their main target.
Tottenham already came out on top in the race for Sandro Tonali, beating both City and Arsenal to his signature this transfer window. They did the same again with Mateus Fernandes, beating United to a deal.
If they are to land Gakpo, they would have to repeat the same trick, but it sure could prove difficult with just a week left before the summer window slams shut.
