A former Tottenham scout has sent a major warning to the North London club’s decision-makers after the latest developments over the future of Djed Spence.
Two Tottenham full-backs have both played key roles in taking their nations to the business end of the World Cup.
Pedro Porro and Djed Spence, who were expected to be fighting it out for a starting spot at Spurs next season, have been instrumental in Spain and England’s progress in the tournament.
Porro signed a new long-term deal at Tottenham earlier this summer, which was a clear show of faith from Roberto De Zerbi, leaving Spence the subject of huge transfer interest.

Tottenham warned against accepting Everton’s offer for Djed Spence
Everton have registered an interest in Spence, with sources indicating that the Toffees are willing to pay £25m to land the Spurs full-back this summer.
Former Tottenham scout Bryan King believes that the North London club would be making a huge mistake by accepting such a deal for the 25-year-old, insisting that they should hold out for double that price.
When asked about the speculation linking Spence with a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, King told Football Insider: “I think he’s done well every time he’s played for England. They’d be foolish to let him go for £25m, that is for sure.
“You wouldn’t let him go for £25m. You wouldn’t even start thinking about letting him go for under £50m. We’re talking about a young, current England international. It’s a situation where Tottenham would be stupid to let him go.”
Spurs set valuation for Spence as interest grows
Everton are not the only ones interested in the England man, with Inter Milan having also enquired about Spence’s availability over the last few days.
It is unclear how much the Nerazzurri are willing to pay for the Spurs full-back, but the Lilywhites are not expected to let him go on the cheap.
That is according to Pete O’Rourke, who has claimed that it would take an offer of over £40m to prise Spence away from Tottenham this summer.
