Tottenham Hotspur could face a big decision on Djed Spence this summer, as the interest in the full-back continues to grow ahead of next season.
Many were critical of Thomas Tuchel’s decision to take the 25-year-old to the World Cup, but the Spurs defender has silenced his critics with his performances at the tournament.
Were it not for his defensive heroics off the bench against Mexico and Norway, the Three Lions may have struggled to make the final four of the tournament.
While the full-back remains fully focused on bringing football home for the first time in 60 years, his club future continues to be the subject of much speculation.

Everton need to up their offer to sign Djed Spence from Tottenham
It has been reported over recent days that Everton are willing to pay £25m to land the Spurs full-back ahead of the new season.
Additionally, Inter Milan have become the latest club to enquire about Spence’s availability, as the Nerazzurri look to bolster their backline ahead of the new season.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke has now revealed that Tottenham would be willing to cash in on the former Middlesbrough man, but suggested that it would take an offer of more than £40m to prise him away from N17.
When asked about Spurs’ stance on Spence, O’Rourke told Football Insider: “If a suitable offer were to come in, then they (Spurs) might look at it and evaluate it. There’s been a lot of incoming Spurs this season, so maybe they might have to balance the books in some respects.
“But it would be a pretty hefty fee. You’re probably looking at around £40m plus for somebody like Djed Spence, and whether Everton would be willing to go to those sort of figures, I’m not too sure.”
Spurs may have already identified a Spence replacement
Some reliable sources have claimed that Tottenham may have identified Neco Williams as a possible replacement for Spence.
The former Liverpool full-back had an exceptional season for Nottingham Forest last term, featuring primarily as a left-back for the Tricky Trees despite being right-footed.
Williams’ stats suggest he offers much more in attack than Spence does, but the Tottenham man has demonstrated at the World Cup again that he has elite athletic and defensive attributes.
