A Tottenham academy midfielder has returned to the same club where he spent the second half of last season before picking up an injury.
It was an eventful transfer deadline day at Spurs, with multiple exits and two players arriving through the door.

Tottenham midfielder George Abbott returns to Mansfield Town
George Abbott spent the first half of last season on loan at Wycombe Wanderers before being recalled and loaned out to Mansfield Town in January.
While the 21-year-old had a decent start to his spell at Mansfield, his season was cut short due to a quad injury he suffered in April, forcing him to return to Hotspur Way early.
Spurs confirmed in the final hours of the transfer window that Abbott will be returning to Field Mill on loan for the 2026-27 campaign.
Spurs reject loan offers for academy defender
While the Lilywhites greenlighted Abbott’s loan move to League One, they decided against allowing an academy defender to make the move to the third tier.
It was reported a few days ago that Tottenham were studying various loan options for academy defender James Rowswell, who made his senior debut for the club at Anfield in March.
However, on deadline day, The Standard journalist Sam Tabuteau revealed that De Zerbi’s men rejected several loan offers from League One and League Two for the 20-year-old.
