Iliman Ndiaye may not be the only player to arrive through the door at Tottenham Hotspur before tomorrow’s 11 pm transfer deadline.
Spurs are set to have a busy end to the transfer window, with several exits potentially on the cards from Hotspur Way as well as a couple of incomings.
Tottenham have agreed a deal worth £60m for Ndiaye and are now working to ensure that the final formalities are completed without any hiccups.
However, it has now emerged that Roberto De Zerbi’s men are also looking to bolster their backline amid the possibility of a senior man’s exit.
Tottenham working to sign Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea
It has been reported over the last few hours that Spurs are scouring the market for a replacement for Kevin Danso, who may be edging closer to a move to Sunderland.
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Spurs have identified Tosin Adarabioyo as their preferred replacement for the Austrian international.
He claims that Spurs are now working on a deal to sign the Chelsea defender, whose arrival at N17 is a ‘concrete possibility’ if Danso departs the club.
Romano wrote on X: “Understand Tottenham are working on deal to sign Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea. It’s a concrete possibility discussed today if Kevin Danso leaves Spurs.”
Adarabioyo would solve two problems for Spurs
Tottenham are not only looking for someone to cover for Jan Paul van Hecke at centre-back, but reports indicate that De Zerbi also wants to sign an experienced right-back as cover for Pedro Porro.
Adarabioyo has featured at both right-back and centre-back in the Premier League and may thus be a useful squad option for the Lilywhites.
Given Tottenham’s challenges when it comes to the homegrown player limit, the fact that the 28-year-old is English will be of help for the club in their squad planning.
