Cody Gakpo has given a response to Tottenham Hotspur after they reached out to the Liverpool star regarding a summer move to North London.
Spurs have been working to identify attacking alternatives after Eli Junior Kroupi picked up a foot injury, which has ruled him out for three to four months.
All through the summer, Fabrizio Romano has maintained that Tottenham are the ones to watch in the race for Gakpo, and the Lilywhites now appear to be taking some concrete steps towards the Dutchman.
Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe revealed that the Liverpool forward has now emerged as one of Spurs’ leading targets to strengthen their attack.

Cody Gakpo is open to making a summer switch to Tottenham
TEAMtalk claim that Spurs have made enquiries about the Netherlands international’s availability and have held ‘positive discussions’ with his camp.
Gakpo’s camp have been receptive to hearing Tottenham’s plans and the forward is thought to be open to making the switch to North London.
The 27-year-old knows that he will not be a guaranteed starter under Andoni Iraola, with teenage talent Rio Ngumoha set to be the club’s main left-winger.
The Dutchman is not entirely convinced that remaining a squad player is the best option at this stage of his career and believes this summer could be the right moment for him to consider a new challenge.
Liverpool are not entertaining any interest in Gakpo
TEAMtalk say that Tottenham see the former PSV Eindhoven man as someone who can play as a left-sided attacker or lead the line, and are prepared to allow him to become one of the focal points of their attack.
However, the biggest roadblock to them landing Gakpo remains Liverpool’s stance, with the Reds not giving Spurs any encouragement following their enquiries.
It is revealed that the Merseyside club have no appetite to sell the Netherlands international and are planning for the new season with the forward as a part of Iraola’s squad.
