Tottenham Hotspur may be offered a chance to sign a striker who has been on their radar for a long time, but they may have to sacrifice Destiny Udogie.
While Udogie’s quality is not in question, the Italy international’s constant injury problems have prevented him from fulfilling his potential at Tottenham.
It has been widely reported that Luciano Spalletti is ‘pushing’ Juventus to sign the Tottenham left-back this summer.
In fact, some sources have claimed that the Bianconeri could attempt to push through a loan deal for Udogie with an option to buy, and the Serie A giants have now allegedly come up with a plan to tempt the Lilywhites into selling the full-back.
Juventus could offer striker to Tottenham as part of the Destiny Udogie deal
Calciomercato.it have now reported that Andrea Cambiaso’s future at the Allianz Arena remains uncertain and Juve have started searching for a new left-back.
It is explained that the Italian club would prefer to replace Cambiaso with Udogie, who is open to returning to Serie A after three years in North London.
Interestingly, the outlet claims that Juve plan on using Jonathan David as a ‘bargaining chip’ to secure the Tottenham Hotspur defender.
David only managed eight goals and five assists from 46 matches in his first season in Turin, and it is alleged that he is valued by Juve at around €30-€35m (£26m-£30.2m).
This report comes amidst claims that Tottenham could reignite their interest in the Canadian international after being beaten to his signature by Juve last summer.
Andrea Cambiaso is also on Spurs’ radar
The other interesting dimension to this transfer saga is that the man Juve want to replace Udogie with is also on the Lilywhites’ radar.
Spurs have allegedly made contact over a deal for Cambiaso, who has been an extremely consistent performer for the Bianconeri over recent years.
However, Tottenham are expected to face competition from Inter Milan and AC Milan for Juve full-back.
