Tottenham centre‑back Kevin Danso is closing in on a move to Sunderland as Régis Le Bris’ side intensify their efforts to sign the Austrian defender.

Tottenham Hotspur have been actively reshaping their squad this summer and have been busy in the transfer market.

A whopping eight players have completed moves to north London, while ten others have departed from N17, with Spurs’ total spend at £382 million, while incomings are at £204 million.

However, with less than 48 hours left before the transfer window slams shut, there is expected to be more movement at Hotspur Way.

In fact, Spurs Web has even highlighted ten transfers that Tottenham could complete before Tuesday’s deadline.

Tottenham’s Kevin Danso closing in on Sunderland loan with buy option

Kevin Danso is one player whose future at Spurs is uncertain, with Roberto De Zerbi confirming on Saturday that the defender asked to leave the club this transfer window.

Sunderland have shown interest in Danso and are keen on signing the Austrian permanently this summer.

The Black Cats have even sent a loan bid for the 27-year-old, one that Spurs rejected, although reports claim that Sunderland are readying a second bid for Danso.

We revealed earlier today that a permanent transfer is being explored by Régis Le Bris’ men, but now Spurs insider szyexcl has provided a further update on Danso’s future.

According to the Spurs ITK, it is believed that Danso is now closing in on a loan move to Sunderland, one that includes a buy option. He wrote on X, “he’s[Danso] close to joining Sunderland. Loan with option.”

Spurs consider centre-back replacement for Danso

With Danso looking to head out the door at Tottenham, reports have since emerged that the Lilywhites are back in the market for a centre-back.

This comes despite Spurs’ interest in signing Iliman Ndiaye. Should the Everton winger and a centre-back join Spurs, Tottenham’s incomings this summer will stand at ten.

Chelsea’s Tosin Adarabioyo is now understood to be on the radar of Spurs, with Spurs viewing him as a potential replacement for Danso should the defender leave north London.
