Guglielmo Vicario’s Tottenham future continues to be the subject of much speculation after the goalkeeper did not travel with the Spurs squad on their pre-season tour.
Vicario is one of five senior Spurs players expected to leave the club before the new campaign gets underway, but the Italian is not close to sealing a transfer at the moment.
While it was widely reported at the start of the summer that Juventus are confident of winning the race for the Tottenham goalkeeper, the situation appears to have changed over recent weeks.
Several Italian outlets are reporting that the Bianconeri are struggling to meet Spurs’ asking price for Vicario, but it appears that they have not given up on the 29-year-old just yet.

PA Sport reporter George Sessions has now revealed that Juventus are ready to make a serious effort to sign the former Empoli man after failing to make progress in their pursuit of Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez.
The journalist claimed that the Old Lady are now assessing various options, including signing Vicario on loan with a conditional obligation to buy.
Sessions wrote on X: Juventus is expected to step up its pursuit of Guglielmo Vicario after no progress on the AVFC Emi Martinez. Loan with an option to buy would be Juve’s preference for Vicario, but loan with a conditional obligation a potential solution. Other options being assessed.”
Another Serie A club eyeing move for Vicario
According to reports, Tottenham are holding out for £20m for the Italy international, having paid £17m to sign him three years ago.
Juve are not the only club eyeing the Spurs man, with several outlets claiming that Napoli are also keeping tabs on Vicario’s situation.
In fact, it was reported by Football Insider a couple of days ago that both Juve and Napoli are currently in talks with the Tottenham goalkeeper’s representatives.
