Brighton are continuing to work on a deal for Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic, who has no shortage of admirers across the Premier League.

Brighton have already fallen short with three offers for Vuskovic, with their highest bid reportedly reaching £45m.

That is big money for a player who has not even made a competitive appearance for Spurs, which is a testament to just how well he did on loan at Hamburg last season.

Over the last few days, some sources have revealed that Brighton are pushing ahead with moves for two other centre-backs, which seemed to be a sign that they had given up on the Tottenham man, but it turns out that their interest in the Croat remains.

Brighton expects progress in move for Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic in ‘next days’

Fabrizio Romano has now revealed on his YouTube channel that the Seagulls are continuing to push for the 19-year-old, who is currently at the World Cup.

Conversations between the clubs are ongoing, with Fabian Hürzeler’s men ‘confident’ and ‘optimistic’ about clinching the deal.

The journalist added that the feeling at the South Coast club is that the deal could progress over the coming days, with the player keen on the move.

Brighton face competition from PL giants for Vuskovic

According to reports, Spurs are demanding in excess of £50m for the teenager Vuskovic, having now ‘softened their stance’ after initially valuing the youngster at £70m.

However, the Seagulls are not the only Premier League side who are admirers of the 19-year-old centre-back.

Liverpool and Chelsea are also keeping an eye on Vuskovic as the two Premier League giants scour the market for a top-class defensive addition.
