Lucas Bergvall’s feelings regarding a possible move to Nottingham Forest have come to light as the Midlands club prepare a second offer for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.

It has been an open secret for the last month that Bergvall wants to seek a new challenge away from Spurs, with the attacking midfielder thought to be keen on playing regularly in his preferred number eight role.

It emerged on Thursday that Tottenham had rejected a £38m offer from Forest for the Sweden international, with the Lilywhites valuing the player at around £50m.

The same update revealed that the Tricky Trees were preparing to return with an improved offer for the 20-year-old.

Lucas Bergvall wants to swap Tottenham for Nottingham Forest

BBC Sport have now confirmed that a second offer is on its way from the Midlands club for the Spurs midfielder after Lilywhites sent back their opening bid.

The website reveals that Oliver Glasner’s men are set to send a bid worth £45m to Tottenham, hoping it is enough to clinch the deal.

More consequentially, the report claims that Bergvall is keen on swapping the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the City Ground before the start of the new season.

Oliver Glasner hints he expects Bergvall deal to go through

Oliver Glasnaser refused to name the Tottenham midfielder in his first press conference as Forest head coach on Thursday.

However, the Austrian did hint that he expects deals for World Cup players to go through over the coming weeks and that they will join his squad in the training camp in Portugal.

When asked specifically about Forest’s pursuit of Bergvall, Glasner said: “I have one strength and weakness – it’s impatience. Sometimes it’s a strength, sometimes it’s a weakness. Of course, I would have hoped they already trained with us on the other side.

“It’s impossible because the players we’re now talking to play at the World Cup, so are still on vacation. I’m pretty convinced we will have a few players joining us in Portugal [on a training camp].”
