Pedro Porro has reacted after putting pen to paper on a long-term contract with Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester City have reportedly been eying Porro, but the Lilywhites have now moved decisively to ensure that the right-back is not prised away.
Tottenham announced on Sunday that the Spain international had signed a long-term contract, with the 26-year-old committing his future to the club until 2030.
According to reports, Porro is now one of the highest-paid players at Spurs following the new contract, with the full-back getting a substantial bump on the £85,000 per week he was previously earning.

The former Sporting Lisbon man is currently in the United States, preparing for Spain’s World Cup campaign which kicks off with a clash against Cabo Verde this afternoon.
Porro, who is expected to start for La Roja, has taken to his Instagram stories to react to the new deal, with his post including the caption: ‘Here to stay’ along with a while heart.
The Tottenham man also sent a quick video message to Spurs fans, expressing his delight at signing the new deal and admitting that he cannot wait for next season.
Johan Lange makes big claim following Porro’s contract extension
Tying down the Spaniard comes as a big boost for Roberto De Zerbi as he continues rebuilding the Tottenham squad ahead of his first full season in charge of the club.
The club’s sporting director, Johan Lange, admitted that tying down Porro to a new contract was ‘an important priority’ for Spurs this summer.
Lange also labelled the 26-year-old as one of the best full-backs in the game, and also talked glowingly of the player’s leadership qualities.
