Piero Ausilio has changed his plans as Tottenham Hotspur press forward to appoint him as their new sporting director.
Regular readers of Spurs Web will be aware that over the last couple of weeks, many Italian outlets have said that Ausilio is being targeted by Tottenham after exiting Inter Milan.
It was subsequently claimed that Roberto De Zerbi has already given the green light for Spurs to appoint the experienced Italian.
The Tottenham boss is thought to be a close personal friend of Ausilio, with the pair thus being backed to link up together in the new project underway at the North London club.

Piero Ausilio has abandoned his plans for a break after Tottenham approach
Corriere della Sera (as relayed by Sport Witness) seem confident that the 54-year-old, who spent 28 years at Inter, is now on his way to Spurs.
Their headline reads: “Ausilio, after Inter, restarts at Tottenham: he will work with De Zerbi and Tonali“.
It is revealed that the experienced director’s initial plan was to take a break from football after parting ways with the Nerazzurri at the end of the window.
However, Spurs’ proposal has been too tempting for Ausilio to ignore and negotiations have now progressed between the parties, with an agreement now close.
It is suggested that Tottenham only need to sort out some paperwork before confirming the appointment, which could happen soon.
Spurs sources distance themselves from Ausilio speculation
Corriere della Sera are not the only ones suggesting an agreement is close, with other Italian journalists also reporting that talks between Tottenham and Ausilio are at an advanced stage.
However, despite the relative confidence in Italy regarding the deal, it appears that Spurs are sending out a different message.
This is according to The Sun’s Tom Barclay, who revealed that Tottenham sources have played down claims that they have offered Ausilio the sporting director role.
