‘Potential to revisit’ – Tottenham offered Pape Sarr to another London club this summer

Pape Matar Sarr’s future continues to be the subject of much speculation as Tottenham continue rebuilding their squad ahead of Roberto De Zerbi’s first full season in charge.

The midfielder has not travelled to New Zealand and Australia as part of Tottenham’s pre-season tour, even though he only made two substitute appearances for Senegal at the World Cup, and the Africans were knocked out in the round of 32.

De Zerbi has said that Sarr asked for an extra week off due to a personal issue, but that has not stopped the fans from speculating, given the rumours about the 23-year-old’s future.

Several sources have alleged over the summer that Spurs are willing to cash in on Sarr as part of their squad revamp.

Tottenham could offer Pape Sarr to Brentford again after latest development

It was reported last month that Brentford had expressed an interest in the Spurs midfielder, as the Bees looked to add some reinforcements to their midfield.

The West London club are also now losing Jordan Henderson, who is on the verge of joining Chelsea.

Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has revealed that Spurs had offered Sarr to Brentford earlier in the window, and may now try to do so again over the coming days.

O’Keefe wrote on X: “Sarr was offered to Brentford and they were not biting at the time. Potential to revisit though.”

Champions League club also interested in Sarr

The Bees may face competition for the Senegal international, who is also rumoured to be on the radar of a Serie A giant.

According to Il Mattino, Napoli have explored a move to sign Sarr from Tottenham, as they scour the market for a replacement for Frank Zambo Anguissa.

However, journalist George Sessions revealed a few days ago that no club has shown a willingness to meet Spurs’ valuation of the former Metz man this summer.
