Richarlison’s Tottenham future remains unresolved despite the Premier League transfer window closing, with a late move to Turkey now appearing increasingly possible.
Tottenham Hotspur had agreed a £35m deal for Richarlison with Everton, but the striker’s proposed return to Merseyside ultimately fell through after he was unable to reach an agreement over personal terms.
The summer 2026 transfer window is now officially closed, but Richarlison could still leave Tottenham in the coming days.
Clubs in Turkey have until September 4 to register new players, while the Saudi Arabian transfer window remains open until September 6, giving the Brazilian another opportunity to find a move away from North London.
It now appears that one club in particular is pushing to make that happen, with fresh reports emerging from Turkey regarding the 29-year-old’s future.
Richarlison wants Trabzonspor move despite two rejected bids
A few hours ago, Spurs Web relayed reports from Transfermarkt claiming that Trabzonspor are looking to reach an agreement with Tottenham for Richarlison.
The Super Lig side had reportedly submitted two offers for the striker, both understood to be worth more than €10m (£8.5m), but Tottenham turned them down as they look for a higher fee.
The Athletic’s Seb Stafford-Bloor has also confirmed the same, writing on X: “Trabzonspor have made an unsuccessful attempt to sign Richarlison.”
Reputed Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has now provided another significant update on the situation, claiming Richarlison has verbally agreed to join the Turkish club.
The journalist adds that the Brazilian is ‘pressuring’ Tottenham to accept Trabzonspor’s offer as he looks to bring his time with the North London club to an end.
He wrote on X: “Richarlison has verbally agreed with Trabzonspor! The Brazilian player wants to join Trabzonspor and is pressuring his club to accept the offer! Richarlison wants to leave Tottenham.
How much Tottenham Hotspur want for Richarlison
Richarlison’s desire to leave Tottenham is more of an open secret now, but there is currently a significant gap between what Trabzonspor are prepared to pay and what Spurs want for him.
Earlier last month, some sources claimed that Tottenham would want close to £40m for the Brazilian international, having paid Everton £60m to sign him in the summer of 2022.
The £35m deal Spurs agreed with Everton before the move collapsed could, however, offer some indication of where Tottenham might be willing to compromise.
