Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi has revealed how Mykhailo Mudryk picked up a needless injury during Spurs training.
It is one in and one out for Tottenham Hotspur heading into this weekend’s game against Everton on the injury front.
Roberto De Zerbi was handed a big boost earlier this week after James Maddison returned to first-team training, having missed the last two weeks because of a shoulder injury.
However, it was not all positive for Tottenham during the week, as Mykhailo Mudryk picked up an ankle injury that is set to keep him out until after the international break.

Roberto De Zerbi provides an update on Mykhailo Mudryk
Spurs Web has since revealed that Mudryk’s injury should see him miss at least seven games for Tottenham before he makes a return in November.
Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi has now opened up on what caused the Ukrainian’s injury during training.
He told football.london: “Playing without tackle, without different movement and he felt pain in the ankle and then after two days, he made the medical check and we knew the problem, but after a long time, we knew eh.
“A stupid injury but we are not stupid. When we signed Mudryk, we already knew it could be difficult to come back [straight away] as a normal player.”
Spurs have left wing cover for the injured Mudryk
Of course, it is not surprising to see Mudryk suffer an injury right after playing in his first competitive game since his return from an anti-doping violation suspension.
The winger kicked a ball in a competitive game for the first time since 2024, and a few injury setbacks are ones Spurs would well have had in mind when they signed him on deadline day.
Tottenham do have cover for Mudryk, with Mathys Tel coming in as the natural option, while Savio and Omar Marmoush can fill in on the left of attack.
