While Tottenham Hotspur may be stepping up their negotiations to land Savinho, one piece of the puzzle is yet to fall into place to facilitate the transfer.
Spurs Web has relayed several reports over recent days suggesting that Tottenham are in a hurry to secure Savinho, which may be down to the fact that the Lilywhites have several injuries to their wide players ahead of the opening day of the season.
Some sources are confident that Spurs will finalise a deal for the Brazilian sooner rather than later.
However, over the last few weeks, we have repeatedly heard that Man City want to sign a replacement first before greenlighting the winger’s sale to the Lilywhites, and Enzo Maresca’s side look no closer to securing their preferred replacement.

Man City deem the asking price for Savinho replacement to be ‘too high’
Various outlets have claimed that Maresca’s men have identified Pedro Neto as a potential replacement for Savinho, but the issue for City is that Chelsea want £70m-£75m for the winger.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Al Hilal have also expressed ‘genuine interest’ in the Portugal international, and added that the Blues’ valuation has been deemed ‘too high’ by the Manchester club.
The worry for Tottenham Hotspur is that City’s inability to land Neto may cause a delay in the Savinho deal, or perhaps even cause it to fall through.
Roamano wrote on X: “Al Hilal have genuine interest in Pedro Neto as part of a three-wingers shortlist. Deal depends on Chelsea’s valuation as still deemed too high by Manchester City earlier this summer.”
Savinho in standoff with Man City to push through Spurs move
The Tottenham target missed Man City training last week, and reports from Brazil suggested that Savinho is in a standoff with his employers in order to force through a move to Tottenham.
While Maresca suggested that the winger missed training due to illness, some eyebrows were raised when the player was not named in Man City’s matchday squad for the Community Shield against Arsenal on Sunday.
Fabrizio Romano has said that the winger’s absence from Sunday’s game is down to his keenness to move to Tottenham, adding Spurs and Man City are holding negotiations daily for Savinho.
