Roberto De Zerbi has assuaged the fears of some Tottenham Hotspur fans, who are growing increasingly concerned at the club’s lack of additions to their forward line this summer.
Tottenham had a swift start to the window, getting six players through the door before the start of pre-season, including shattering their transfer record twice in a matter of days.
However, things have gone very quiet at the North London club over the last month, with the squad still needing plenty of work before the window slams shut.
Some Tottenham fans are bemused that the forward line has not yet been strengthened, even though the new campaign is just a week and a half away.

Roberto De Zerbi says ambitious Tottenham will make more signings
De Zerbi has already said that he expects at least two more signings to arrive, and even though we are now into the final weeks of the transfer window, the Italian has not changed his mind.
He insisted that the owners and the board are just as ambitious as him, insisting that the club are building a team that can challenge at the top end of the Premier League table.
The Tottenham boss told Men in Blazers: “In the transfer market, we have not finished yet. The player who will arrive, and then we start we’re looking forward to starting another season with a different, I think not I don’t know ambitions, but with different results.”
When asked about his comments on being like a shark who goes after his top targets, the Italian responded: “No, I’m not. The club has been great because they closed very, very important players. I think we have not finished yet. Okay, we spent money, but the other clubs made the same or more in the past and to compete in the Premier League, you need first level of the players.
“The ambitions, what I said, the ambition of the owner of the club, the board, of the people who decide behind me are very important and very high so we have to find the condition to build a strong team, a stronger team than the last seasons to compete again for the top of the table.”
Why the lull in Spurs’ window is completely understandable
It is worth remembering that De Zerbi has challenged Tottenham to sign only their ‘first targets’ and not settle for backup options. That explains why Spurs have been forced to play the waiting game instead of moving down their wishlist.
According to various reports, Man City want to sign a replacement before greenlighting Savinho’s move to Tottenham.
Meanwhile, it has been suggested that Liverpool want to make multiple attacking additions before even considering selling Coady Gakpo.
