Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly keen to add another Liverpool player to his rebuild project in north London this summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur managed to convince Andy Robertson to sign a pre-contract agreement following the expiration of his Liverpool deal.

The Scotland international is set to officially join Spurs on July 1 after the Lilywhites fought off interest from Serie A giants Juventus.

Robertson arrives with a wealth of experience after spending nine successful seasons at Liverpool, who have been one of England’s dominant sides over the last decade.

However, it appears the full-back may not be the only Liverpool player Tottenham are targeting this summer.

Tottenham working on Cody Gakpo transfer plan

According to Soccer News, Tottenham are interested in making a move for Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo this summer.

The report explains that Roberto De Zerbi is keen to convince Gakpo to swap Anfield for north London, with Spurs already working behind the scenes on a possible deal.

It is claimed Tottenham are drawing up a plan to convince both the player and Liverpool during the transfer window, while interest in the Dutchman also remains from clubs in England, Spain and Germany.

The report further adds that Spurs view Gakpo as a player capable of kick-starting the club’s rebuild under De Zerbi ahead of next season.

Comparing Cody Gakpo and Savinho stats amid Spurs interest

Spurs are clearly in the market for another wide forward this summer. Savinho is also firmly on Tottenham’s radar, with Spurs expected to submit a bid for the Manchester City winger soon.

However, while Spurs Web has reported that Savinho could be available for £60m or less, Gakpo is believed to be valued at around £51m (€60m).

The Dutchman, now 27, endured a relatively disappointing campaign last season, finishing with nine goals and six assists in 52 appearances. Even so, that return still compares favourably to Savinho’s four goals and three assists in 36 appearances.

Like Savinho, Gakpo also signed a new long-term deal last summer, with his Liverpool contract running until 2030, leaving the Reds in a strong negotiating position.
