Two clear front-runners have emerged in the race for Tottenham Hotspur target Alex Scott, who continues to be linked with a departure from Bournemouth.
Spurs fans will be aware that Tottenham are pushing to complete big-money deals for both Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
However, those are not the only midfielders on the Lilywhites’ wishlist, with Roberto De Zerbi’s side also continuing to eye Alex Scott, who had a breakout season at Bournemouth in 2025-26.
It is well documented that Scott is a boyhood Spurs fan, but the Lilywhites are now falling behind in the race for his signature.

Tottenham are no longer the front-runners to land Alex Scott
A few days ago, it emerged that Spurs are facing competition from Arsenal and Man United for Scott.
Sky Sports have now reported on their live transfer blog that, alongside Tonali and Fernandes, the Lilywhites are indeed also interested in a deal for the Bournemouth man.
However, the update revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have fallen behind in the race for the 22-year-old, with the Gunners and the Red Devils currently being the frontrunners to secure the former Bristol City man.
GiveMeSport relay this information and added that the Cherries are desperate to keep hold of the midfielder.
Spurs will have to shatter their transfer record to land Scott
According to GiveMeSport, the South Coast club values the English midfielder at £80m and are expected to attempt to tie the player down to a new contract.
Meanwhile, a previous update from TEAMtalk suggested that Scott could be sold for £70m by the Cherries this summer.
With the midfielder having just two years left on his contract at the Vitality Stadium, his price and his future could be heavily influenced by whether he agrees to pen a new deal with Marco Rose’s side.
