Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to make a big statement of intent as they prepare a second offer for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali.
Tottenham have already had a £75m offer turned down for Tonali, but they have not given up on their pursuit of the Italy international.
It has been widely reported over the last few days that the Newcastle star has given the green light to complete a move to Spurs.
The likes of Arsenal and Man City are also keeping an eye on Tonali, with Spurs’ deal thus open to a hijack, but the Lilywhites are now prepared to
land what they hope is a defining blow in the race for the midfielder.

Tottenham preparing mammoth second offer for Sandro Tonali
TEAMtalk say that after turning down Spurs’ £75m offer, Newcastle made it clear that it would take £100m to prise the midfielder away from St James’ Park.
Sources have now confirmed to the website that Tottenham are indeed ready to return with a fresh offer in the region of £100m, which would shatter their transfer record by a considerable margin.
The report claims that Roberto De Zerbi’s men are determined to make Tonali their ‘marquee signing’ of the summer window.
The North Londoners have also put together an extremely lucrative contract that would see Tonali’s current salary with the Magpies double if he does make the move to the capital.
The report adds that ‘confidence has continued to grow’ at Tottenham following positive discussions with the player and his representatives.
Tonali is viewed as a transformative signing by Spurs
TEAMtalk say that Tottenham could sign as many as three midfielders this summer, but the Newcastle star is the one viewed by the club as a ‘transformative signing’, capable of taking the squad to another level.
The Spurs hierarchy is determined to provide De Zerbi with the elite additions he needs to compete at the top end of the Premier League next season, and the Italian coach regards Tonali as ‘the ideal player’ for the club’s evolution.
The publication adds that while Arsenal and Man City are continuing to monitor developments around the 26-year-old, neither club has formally joined the race yet.
