The future of Omar Marmoush could be decided shortly after Tottenham Hotspur signalled an interest in the Manchester City star.

Having strengthened their backline and their midfield significantly over the past few days, Spurs are now working on making multiple additions to their forward line ahead of Roberto De Zerbi’s first full season in charge.

Reports indicate that Tottenham are big fans of Marmoush, who started just eight Premier League matches under Pep Guardiola last season.

Roberto De Zerbi is thought to be keen on adding the 27-year-old to his squad, and the Lilywhites may find out very soon if a deal is on the cards.

Tottenham target Omar Marmoush set for crunch talks over his Man City future

A new report in TEAMtalk has now confirmed that Tottenham have indeed shown interest in Marmoush, who faces an uncertain future at the Etihad Stadium.

The report explains that the forward’s ability to play as a number nine, second striker or as a winger makes him an attractive target for Spurs.

It is revealed that Marmoush is now set for ‘key talks’ with City over his future after slipping down the pecking order last season.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt man and his representatives want clarity from new boss Enzo Maresca before deciding his future, with the player keen to hear where he fits into the Italian’s plans.

While Marmoush is ready to stay if Maresca offers him a prominent role, he is prepared to explore other options if it becomes apparent that opportunities would be hard to come by at the Etihad Stadium.

Spurs could face plenty of competition for Marmoush

Tottenham are not the only ones interested in the City star, with Newcastle also having made enquiries about Marmoush’s availability.

Additionally, the Egypt internaitonal is also attracting ‘significant interest’ from Bundesliga clubs as he still has a strong reputation in Germany, owing to his spell at Frankfurt.

However, Marmoush is not rushing towards an exit from Manchester just yet, and is first expected to seek clarity from his employers, with his talks with Maresca expected to prove decisive in dictating where the forward ends up this summer.
