Tottenham Hotspur have plenty of work to do to win the race for Ibrahim Mbaye, but the door could open for the Lilywhites to secure the PSG starlet due to developments elsewhere.

Spurs are continuing to hold talks over a deal for Savinho, but the Man City player may not be the only winger to arrive at N17 this summer.

It has been reported over recent weeks that Tottenham have expressed an interest in PSG starlet Mbaye, who is considering leaving Paris in search of regular game time.

Earlier this week, RMC Sport revealed that Spurs have indeed enquired to PSG about Mbaye, who is valued by the European champions at over €50m (£42.7m).

Man City and Liverpool sounded out by Tottenham target Ibrahim Mbaye

TEAMtalk have now claimed that the Senegal international’s representatives have started sounding out potential suitors as they look to seal a move away from Luis Enrique’s side.

The report makes no mention of Spurs, but reveals that Mbaye’s entourage have contacted Liverpool and Man City to assess their interest.

Even though Aston Villa have shown keen interest in the winger and have held talks over a deal, the player is not interested in a move to Villa Park.

There is a belief within Mbaye’s camp that the teenager is capable of competing at the highest level and they thus want to prioritise discussions with clubs that can challenge for major honours.

Why Spurs may have a door open to poach Mbaye

However, TEAMtalk make it clear that a move to neither Anfield nor the Etihad Stadium is nailed on for the PSG star this summer.

While Liverpool’s recruitment staff have tracked Mbaye’s progress, they are also following several other wide players, with Bradley Barcola being their top target.

The website reveals that Man City also do not consider the Senegalese starlet to be their top attacking target, despite wanting to add to their forward line this summer.

The report adds that Mbaye’s camp are ‘determined to find the right sporting project’ for the youngster, wth further talks expected with various clubs over the coming weeks.
