Lucas Bergvall continues to attract plenty of interest, but Tottenham Hotspur are unwilling to budge on their valuation.

Spurs are working on big-money midfield additions at the moment, and that has had the effect of one of their young starlets seeking a move.

According to reports, Bergvall has informed Tottenham that he wants to leave this summer in search of regular game time.

Nottingham Forest have expressed a firm interest in Bergvall while it has also emerged over the last few days that AC Milan see the Spurs midfielder as the ‘ideal’ addition to their midfield.

Serie A club find out Tottenham’s stance on Lucas Bergvall

Gianluca Di Marzio has now revealed that Napoli also explored a move for the Sweden international over the last few days.

The Serie A giants were hoping that they could get Bergvall for around €40m (£34.4m), but they have learned that even €50m (£43m) is not enough to tempt the Lilywhites into a sale.

Di Marzio said on the TuttoMercatoWeb podcast: “Bergvall, a Tottenham player who will perhaps find less playing time with all those signings, is working with his entourage to leave.

“He’s a player you think: ‘I’ll go there, maybe l’lI take him on loan, offer €30m, offer €35m and they’ll give him to me,’ but Napoli, who are among the most interested teams in Italy, have made an effort to understand and thought perhaps, at most, they could land him with €40m.

“Tottenham recently rejected €50m, likely from an English club, likely Nottingham Forest. And I don’t think they’ll go below that threshold. It will always take €50m or more.”

Bergvall’s interesting response when asked about his Spurs’ future

Journalist Christian Falk has insisted that Bayern Munich are not exploring a move for Bergvall despite reports linking the Swede with a move to Bavaria.

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old refused to confirm that he will stay at Tottenham when pressed on his club future by the Swedish media a few days ago.

Despite repeatedly being asked whether his agent is speaking to Spurs about his future, Bergvall simply responded by saying that his focus is purely on the World Cup.
