Tottenham Hotspur poach a highly-rated teenage defender from West Ham after taking Mo Kudus and Mateus Fernandes in the last two years.

Spurs and West Ham went 14 years without doing any business together before the Lilywhites poached Mohammed Kudus from the London Stadium in 2025.

Since then, the two clubs have agreed multiple deals, with Spurs signing Mateus Fernandes for £85m from West Ham a few months ago and Manor Solomon swapping North London for the Championship side later in the window.

Additionally, the Lilywhites have also been poaching some of the best young talent from the Hammers academy over recent months.

Tottenham snag teenage defender Gabriel Rigg from West Ham

During the summer window, Tottenham also agreed a deal to sign teenage midfielder Issac Allen from the East London club, and they have now raided their rivals again for one of their young starlets.

According to The Talent Hunter, 15-year-old defender Gabriel Rigg has now left West Ham to join the Tottenham Hotspur academy.

The versatile defender, who can play at centre-back and left-back, has spent the last three years with the Hammers, but he will now make the move over to Hotspur Way.

Spurs have significantly bolstered their academy over recent months

There was a lot of attention on the 10 first-team signings that Tottenham Hotspur made in the summer, but the club also strengthened their academy ranks with top young talent.

Apart from the two West Ham teenagers mentioned above, the Lilywhites also secured Kwasi Senyah from Wolves, while Spurs also won the race for 18-year-old Kyran Thompson after he departed Arsenal’s academy.

Additionally, Tottenham also completed a deal for highly-rated midfielder Cole Ramsey after he left Aston Villa’s academy at the start of the summer.
