Tottenham Hotspur have returned with a second offer for Sandro Tonali after seeing their initial bid immediately sent back by Newcastle United.
Last week, it emerged that Spurs’ £80m offer for Tonali was turned down by Newcastle, but that did not deter the Lilywhites.
Over the last few days, reports have indicated that Tottenham are continuing to work on a deal for the Italy international and remain determined to seal an agreement.
We have repeatedly heard from several sources that Tonali has already said ‘yes’ to Spurs, with the deal being dependent on the Lilywhites’ meeting Newcastle’s valuation.

Tottenham have sent a nine-figure offer to Newcastle for Sandro Tonali
Alferdo Pedulla has now revealed that Spurs have taken ‘another big step’ towards landing the former AC Milan man.
Pedulla claims that after their first bid was sent back by the Magpies, the North London club have now submitted an offer worth more than £100m for Tonali.
Pedulla added that a ‘few details are still missing’ between the two clubs to finalise an agreement, but adds that ‘the road is now clear’ for De Zerbi’s men to finalise the deal.
The Italian journalist asserts that the 26-year-old has always been the Lilywhites’ top midfield target this summer.
Spurs now confident after reaching total agreement with Tonali
Meanwhile, journalist Nicolo Schira has said that Spurs have reached a full agreement with the Newcastle man on a contract worth £12m per season.
He adds that De Zerbi’s men are now ‘confident’ of finalising a deal for Tonali, who has decided to swap St James Park for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Schira said on X: “Total agreement between Sandro Tonali and Tottenham for a contract until 2032 (12M/year). THFC are now confident to reach a deal with Newcastle to sign the midfielder, who wants to leave NUFC and has chosen to join Spurs (Roberto De Zerbi had a key role).”
