Tottenham Hotspur are now ready to submit a bid and make a big contract offer for an experienced Premier League winger.
While Spurs have prioritised addressing their backline at the start of the window, the speculation over the last few days suggests that the Lilywhites have now moved on to reinforcing other areas further up the pitch.
Strengthening their wide areas is a priority for Roberto De Zerbi’s side this summer, with some sources suggesting Tottenham want to add two wingers to their squad.
Earlier this month, it emerged that Spurs had expressed an interest in a Liverpool star, and the Lilywhites may now be set to accelerate their move for the player.

Tottenham ready to submit offer for Cody Gakpo
The player in question is Cody Gakpo, who fell short of his own high standards at Anfield last season. Another journalist has now confirmed that he is on Spurs’ radar.
Nicolo Schira has now revealed that Tottenham are working on a deal for Gakpo and are ready to submit ‘an important bid’ to Liverpool.
He adds that the Lilywhites have also offered the Dutch winger a five-year contract and a key role in De Zerbi’s project.
Schira wrote on X: “Roberto De Zerbi wants to sign Cody Gakpo. Tottenham are working and ready to submit an important bid to Liverpool, while for the Dutch winger offered a contract until 2031 and a key role in RDZ’s Project. Opened talks.”
How much are Spurs willing to offer for Gakpo?
Gakpo’s representatives are reportedly exploring a move away from Anfield, as the winger fears that he will drop down the pecking order under new head coach Andoni Iraola.
It was asserted last week that Tottenham are willing to offer £73.5m for the Liverpool star, which, if accepted, would make the 27-year-old the Lilywhites’ record signing.
However, a few days ago, talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook claimed that suggestions that Gakpo wants to leave the Reds are wide off the mark.
