Andy Robertson has showcased his quality for Scotland, just a day after he officially completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

On Friday, Tottenham announced that Robertson had arrived on a free transfer following a nine-year stint at Liverpool.

On signing for the club, the Scotland international sent a message to Spurs fans from the USA, where he is preparing for the upcoming World Cup.

The 32-year-old, who captains his country, was involved in international action just a day after completing his move to North London, as Steve Clarke’s men stepped up their preparations ahead of their tournament opener against Haiti in a week.

Tottenham’s newest signing Andy Robertson shines for Scotland against Bolivia

The newest Spurs signing started and played the first-half in Scotland’s final friendly ahead of the World Cup, as they came up against Bolvia in New Jersey.

Robertson was at his marauding best down the left, and it took him just five minutes to make his mark on the game.

The left-back’s dinked cross from the left was met by Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland, who headed it into the top corner to put Scotland 1-0 up.

Robertson and his teammates went on to register a morale-boosting 4-0 win ahead of their first appearance at the World Cup in 18 years.

Roberto De Zerbi is delighted to have Robertson on board

Roberto De Zerbi has admitted that he is delighted to have Robertson at Spurs, describing the former Liverpool man as ‘an outstanding left-back’.

The Tottenham boss also added that he expects the 32-year-old to bring leadership and a winning mentality into the club’s dressing room.

Spurs legend Michael Dawson waxed lyrical about Robertson’s character, having played alongside the Scott at Hull City.
