Tottenham Hotspur may already be having second thoughts about their decision to sell Will Lankshear permanently, as the striker continued his impressive start to the season.
Spurs have been ruthless in moving some of their young players on this summer, with Alfie Devine, Luka Vuskovic, Tynan Thompson and Ashley Phillips all being sold by the North London club.
However, the sale that caused the biggest stir on social media was that of Lankshear, who joined Middlesbrough for £20m, including add-ons, earlier this summer.
After his excellent campaign on loan at Oxford United last term, many felt that the 21-year-old could be used as Tottenham’s third-choice striker this season.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side decided against that, and they may already be having some regrets, given the way he has started life at the Riverside Stadium.

Lankshear found the back of the net twice on his Boro debut last week as the club began the campaign with a 2-1 win over Lincoln City.
The centre-forward has now found the back of the net again for the Championship promotion hopefuls, who emerged with a 3-1 win away at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night in the EFL club clash.
The former Tottenham man got on the end of a perfectly weighted through ball in the 78th minute and produced a calm finish to put the away side 2-1 up.

Spurs told they may have sold a £100m striker
Many Tottenham fans felt that the club made a huge mistake by letting Lankshear go, and those feelings will only grow after the 21-year-old’s impressive start to the season.
Lankshear’s striker coach Scott Chickleday has even suggested that the Spurs academy graduate has the potential to evolve into a £100m striker.
Chickleday claimed that the centre-forward is good enough to be the man to succeed Harry Kane upfront for England when the Tottenham legend eventually hangs up his boots.
