Dazza1976 got a reaction from Borodin in The Fabio Paratici Thread...
For me it’s a bit early to form an opinion, we’re only 3 games in and we’ve had 3 * 1 nil wins which is great but easily reversible and it will be a while before new signings make any significant difference.

re the DOF v first team coach and decisions on who is signed I imagine it is done by committee, with all coaches present etc and also Daniel levy.

We need to see where we are in 2-3 transfer windows time. Personally I think DOF is needed, too much now days (has been for years) for one man to coach, sort contracts, scout players, negotiate etc. Similarly chairman shouldn’t be doing it either so better for us if levy is little removed from transfers, but I I doubt he is too far away. Expect he is heavily heavily involved.

I’m pleased the atmosphere amongst the players seems strong, a few defeats will be the real test. At least we won’t be as turgid to watch this year.

Winks is average so probably beat to offload. Dele I still think if the right manager sticks with him he can come good again. He has talent, big season for him, needs to take his chance in first team.

Yeah I agree, personally I blame levy most for this saga. He promised the lad he would allow him to leave if spurs floundered again, which they inevitably did. It must have been a complete renege of their agreement for Kane and his advisors to kick off.
He’s been loyal to Tottenham and could have left before now I’m sure. Time is running out for him to win trophies a la sheringham so I really don’t blame him for wanting to leave.

he has been naive to sign a 6yr deal without a release clause but probably had blind faith that spurs were on verge of some trophies. Hindsight eh?

having said all that if he wants to go we should sell him. It’s time for others to step out of his shadow and stop being the Harry Kane team as pep put it! He should ask for transfer and then let’s get the deal done. I would say £150 is too high in current climate and given his age/injury record. I’d be happy if spurs got £130 for him, get 2-3 players in and go from there. It will then be on city to meet the asking price. If they try and low ball then that’s not something Kane should blame spurs hierarchy for. It depends on how high levy demands, we all know he loves some brinkmanship is these matters.

I do think if the deal doesn’t happen Kane would still give his best for his teammates  as that is what he has always shown on the pitch but he’ll never trust levy again, nor should he.

I agree, we shouldn’t. He needs to request transfer and levy should get the sale done. Obviously if city take the piss and offer less than £120 m then tough luck for Kane.

Dazza1976 got a reaction from Borodin in 21/22 PL SPURS Vs Man City Sun 15th Aug 16:30 K.O.
Missed the first half but thought we played very well second half and deserved win based on what I saw. L. Love Lucas Moura, guy never stops running like Son. Great flick on for the goal and then average defending by city.
City starting season slow again (not the match as I hear the came out find blazing) but that won’t bother them, spurs need to keep up that work rate. So important to keep the momentum going so more of the same effort next game, need to check who we are playing!

hopefully Kane saga will be sorted soon, sell him ASAP and get some replacements in, unless he has a change of heart. Although I think he should leave now, would like to see some other strikers get a chance at the club.

It’s exactly the reason that Kane is prepared to take such drastic steps that says to me levy has shafted him. I think Kane has been naive, he should have had a min release clause added into his last contract but I can imagine levy the us promised him the earth regards squad strengthening etc.
I say sell him ASAP for what we can get, I see no point in keeping someone who wants out. He’s done enough, did his bit with his goals and levy hasn’t come through on his side. If he’d kept poch I’m sure none of this would have happened but as usual levy stabbed him in the back and then screwed up with Jose appointment.

Everyone trying to write out what Kane has done for the club is silly and unjust. How long should a guy stay if he’s ambitious, and yes he signed the contract but that’s was before level hit the self destruct button wasn’t it?
this is the same chairman who was part of the ESL debacle, same chairman who shafted poch, same chairman who wasted the bale money, same guy who got Jose in.
people need to wake up and see what part he has played in all this.

I can scarcely believe that anyone could blame Levy for this Kane debacle. I wish Joe Lewis would tell Levy to put Kane in the reserves for 3 years and then let him go on a free. Lewis could afford it and it may teach Kane and others like him a little something about humility.
I no longer want Kane to break any Tottenham records - when he is gone, he needs to be forgotten.

Christ, many are turning on Kane pretty quickly even after all his goals over the years.
My take on it is he was most likely given a gentleman’s agreement by levy who has now reneged on that and Harry (if we believe he’s not turned up in protest) has had his hand forced. I think that’s why Kane had stated quiet, he’s banking on levy doing the right thing (ie abiding by the agreement) so I wouldn’t blame Kane if it’s true that he’s stayed away from training (I don’t care tbh). Could be typical media BS but still, regardless of contracts signed etc etc, if levy has promised him via gentleman’s agreement he could leave then we should look to sell him ASAP. We need the money to rebuild and can’t afford morale to go any lower which it might if he’s forced to stay. The squad isn’t strong enough with him, and his goals, to do anything and he’s one ankle injury away from decline. He has gone missing in some big games (he’s not alone in that!) and because he’s always in the team other strikers haven’t had a chance.

I don’t know what levy’s valuation is but no doubt he’ll have to come down and compromise. If we get £130m for him we’ve done well in the current climate. Most likely this is going to be a long, drawn out affair, another shambles in the Spurs mould

I really hope if he has a gentleman’s agreement he is allowed to leave. Get what we can for him, wish him good luck, and move on.

Few years of transition for us, we had our chances to win something last 6-7 years, we didn’t and we won’t in the near future.
I don’t blame Kane at all for wanting to leave now, he’s done more than enough with his goals.

if levy goes back on whatever promises he made to the player then he’s a class A £&)*

Dazza1976 got a reaction from Jamesinashby in Who Will Be The Next Manager ?
Well not that inspiring but it is a sign of where the club is at. We have little money in the kitty for transfers so they’ll have to wheel and deal and look for bargains.

Levy is trying to spin doctor it but from where we were 2.5 years ago on the pitch we have come down hard.

still at least we have a manager so need to back him, especially given we know what he’s working under. Will be a struggle to break top 6 this season I think.

being a spurs supporter is purgatory or Gehenna (thanks Wikipedia), hades or hell!
Gehenna seems to be where we are stuck, perhaps the best description for a club with Jewish connections. Seriously wtf happened to Tottenham, when I was a kid in the 80s at least they won a few trophies.

With each passing day any goodwill Levy ever had for sorting the stadium out evaporates. 40 years of mismanagement (not all Levy obviously) surely we have to have an aging fan base because there can’t be any kids choosing Tottenham as a club.

think they should change the club name, motto and emblem. Need a complete image change!

we need to get someone in who accepts we’ve only got cash from sales to spend. The club have no big money, tbf to levy COVID timing just after stadium is built is a disaster.
personally if we are skint then let’s pray the academy can churn a couple out, we should sell kane to raise funds, whomever we get has to have track record of promoting youth.

This is absolutely shambolic, levy has put himself and the club into a ridiculous situation.
gattuso would  be a terrible appointment, shocking.
I’d rather we went with a young manager who knows the English game if we can’t get poch (as it seems now).
What is Eddie Howes situation, is he available? There has to be a young manager worth a punt if we can’t get a decent experienced manager in.
my old man joked about klinnsman but right now I’d take him. Even Martinez who I was against I now would snap your arms off to get him. Maybe that’s it, maybe levy is waiting for him.
Spurs are a joke club at the moment, no trophies whilst pretending to be a big club, massive debt but no fans in that lovely stadium due to Covid (can’t blame levy for that, but it wish I could), sacked the best manager we’ve had for years because of one sticky period (in which we still got to the CL final), squad not refreshed, star player wants to leave, ESL debacle (how on levy thought that was going happen I don’t know). Lessons in how to destroy all the goodwill poch built up with that team in the previous 4-5 seasons.

From now on if anyone asks we who I support I’ll say no one because levy is a disaster at the moment.

    Well said.
Levy has his faults (don't we all) but he is working to build Spurs into one of the top teams in the world. We would always be also-rans with the old stadium - you haven't got a hope when the likes of the Arse are getting 25,000 extra fans for every game.  Money talks.
Many complain that we are not buying big money signings, but we don't have big money. £200,000,000.00 in lost revenue because of Covid.

That's why I think I prefer Ten hag fonseca is used to getting money to spend Th builds from within the squad on a smaller budget which is probably what we going to be bloody restricted to.
I'm not being funny if you can't always get rid of certain players then just bloody release them then I'd rather have winks dire Sissoko players like that off the books and pay the money to somebody might actually improve us.
Can't we just put her shitttt players up for auction on eBay some championship team will buy them

    I agree.
we need a manager who will blood the youth players because we simply don’t have the cash to buy the best. We can take a pint on 20-30m players, maybe the odd 40m (can’t believe the numbers given I grew up in the 80s when anything > 1m was a BIG signing).

I hope fonseca has history or promoting from within, without new owners these will be the conditions any spurs manager needs to operate under.

not sure what state our youth team is in but hopefully there are 2-3 close to making jump to first team.
