Tottenham Hotspur supporters may not have to wait long to see Omar Marmoush in action, with an important detail in his loan agreement potentially allowing the new signing to feature this weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur have just announced their eighth signing of the summer: Omar Marmoush arriving from Manchester City on a season-long loan. Spurs also have an obligation to make the move permanent for £50m plus £10m in add-ons next year.
The Egypt international struggled for regular minutes during his 18 month spell at the Etihad as Erling Haaland’s backup, and there is little doubt that problem could be solved in North London given Tottenham’s forwards have struggled for consistency over the last few seasons.
Marmoush has revealed that the project presented to him by Roberto De Zerbi was ‘very attractive’, and supporters will be eager to see him get started, especially after his former Man City teammate Savio scored and assisted on his Tottenham debut vs Charlton Athletic on Wednesday.

Omar Marmoush could make Tottenham debut against Newcastle
According to football.london’s Alasdair Gold, Marmoush’s existing work permit can carry over during his loan move to Tottenham, meaning he should be available to make his debut against Newcastle United on Saturday.
That is because UK immigration rules allow an International Sportsperson to move to another UK club on loan without submitting a new change-of-employment application.
Manchester City will remain Marmoush’s sponsor during his loan spell in North London, allowing him to play for Spurs without needing to go through the process again.
However, that would change next summer when the 27-year-old’s move becomes permanent, as Spurs would then become his new sponsor, meaning another work-permit process would be required for the Egyptian.

Speaking via the club’s official channels shortly after Marmoush was announced, Roberto De Zerbi said:

“He has incredible attacking quality, but what I also love is his desire to improve and to win. He brings pace, intelligence and a real threat in front of goal, and I believe he can take our attacking play to another level.”
