Tottenham fans have been full of praise for their club after they completed the sale of academy youngster Tynan Thompson, who has now joined Manchester United.
Tottenham Hotspur have now completed the sale of one more player, taking their total departures for the summer to five, while incomings stand at six.
Tynan Thompson became the latest to leave after completing a move to Manchester United for £4 million, plus a further £4 million in add-ons. Spurs have also retained a 20 per cent sell-on clause on the teenager.
The sale has taken Tottenham’s earnings from the summer transfer window to £93.1 million after spending £237 million on new signings.
The average age of players sold remains notably low as Spurs continue to offload youngsters this transfer window.
With Radu Dragusin, Alejo Veliz, Luka Vuskovic, Alfie Devine and Thompson now sold, the average age of the club’s departures currently stands at 20.8.

Following the youngster’s departure, many Tottenham fans took to social media to give their reaction to his sale. The overwhelming feeling among supporters was one of approval, with many praising the club’s work in the transfer market this summer.
One fan wrote: “Woah why are we so good at sales now looool wdym £8mil and 20% sell on for an academy player.”
Another added: “The matching rights is great tbh.” A third commented: “Huge talent, but it feels like a good deal.”
One other fan stated: “Pretty good deal. No Europe so our only academy pathways right now should be Moore and LWB.”
The praise continued, with another fan writing: “Good business tbf 8m and 20% sell on and matching rights.”
A similar sentiment followed as another supporter added: “We’re getting so much better with sales.” One more fan commented: “Good deal, whoever is in charge of negotiations with outgoings this summer is doing a good job so far 👏.”
A final supporter concluded: “Not a bad deal at all for a player who probably wouldn’t have gotten any chance in the first team.”
Spurs’ transfer sales continue to impress
Spurs have indeed performed well when it comes to player sales for much of the summer transfer window, and that has been reflected in some of their previous deals.
Luka Vuskovic‘s sale is one that stands out, with the Croat sold for £50 million while Tottenham also secured a 20 per cent sell-on clause and matching rights.
Dragusin’s departure is another notable piece of business, with the Romanian joining Fiorentina on loan before the Italian side are expected to pay £21.4 million next season for the 24-year-old.
That should give supporters confidence that Tottenham can continue to negotiate strongly if more players leave, with Lucas Bergvall the latest player to attract transfer interest.
However, Spurs did not hesitate to reject £38 million and £46 million bids from Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United after both offers fell short of the north London club’s valuation.
