James Maddison has now sent a farewell message to Radu Dragusin following the Tottenham centre-back’s move to Fiorentina.
Tottenham Hotspur have shown a willingness to let go of certain players who are surplus to requirements this summer transfer window.
So far, that has led to the departure of four players, with Spurs having agreed on the sale of Luka Vuskovic to Brighton for £50 million, while the exits of Radu Dragusin, Alfie Devine and Alejo Veliz have been confirmed.
These sales have fetched Spurs £85.1 million, with Dragusin’s accounting for much of that, although Tottenham are expected to receive their £21.4 million fee in 2027 should certain clauses be met.

Tottenham midfielder James Maddison bids farewell to Radu Dragusin
Following Dragusin’s latest loan move to Fiorentina after what has been a last two years of ups and downs in north London, James Maddison has now taken to social media to bid farewell to the Romanian.
Dragusin only featured 48 times for Spurs and could well have played more had it not been for his ACL injury suffered in 2025.
A lengthy spell on the sidelines meant that the centre-back received even fewer minutes as he went on to play just 516 minutes for Spurs last season.
However, on the treatment table, it looked as though he and Maddison formed a bond, as the Englishman himself picked up an ACL injury of his own last year during pre-season.
Following his departure, Maddison has now taken to his Instagram story, sending a heartfelt message to Dragusin.
He wrote: “My brother! Adversity brought us so close together. Will miss you a lot mate. I will still text you for sauna club just in case you get angry. Good luck, fratello.”
Radu Dragusin sends emotional farewell message to Tottenham fans
Departing from Tottenham has surely not been easy for Dragusin himself. The Romanian, following the confirmation of his exit, took to social media to send a message to the Tottenham fans.
He wrote in an emotional farewell message: “Some chapters become part of who you are.
“From the day I arrived at Tottenham, I was proud to wear this badge, and looking back, I’m grateful for all the memories I made at this club. Lifting the Europa League trophy is something I’ll always be proud of. Sharing that moment with my teammates, the staff and our supporters is a memory I’ll carry with me forever.
“But football isn’t only about the moments you celebrate. It’s also about the moments that test you the most. During the toughest period of my career, when injury kept me off the pitch, I never felt alone.
“The support I received from this club, my teammates and the incredible Spurs fans gave me strength every single day. Tottenham has helped me grow, not only as a footballer, but as a person.
“Thank you to everyone at the club for your trust and support. And thank you to every supporter for always being there. Your passion, loyalty and support have meant so much to me.
“As I take the next step in my career, I do so with nothing but gratitude and respect. Thank you, Spurs. 🤍”
