Tottenham have received their latest power rankings ahead of the 26–27 Premier League season kicking off.
Tottenham Hotspur certainly have to improve on their display from last season, having managed a disappointing 17th-place finish and avoiding relegation by the skin of their teeth.
Roberto De Zerbi is well aware of this and is currently working on improving the squad at his disposal, already spending a whopping £237 million.
But he knows there is still a need for further reinforcements, and Tottenham remain active in the market for forward options, with the club aiming to bolster their attack with two or three new signings.
Opta Power Rankings: where Tottenham stands among world’s best teams
Many pundits do believe that Tottenham could improve their league finish this season, given their activity in the summer transfer market.
Several have tipped Spurs to finish in the top six or even the top four. Others even believe that Tottenham could be title challengers should they secure a top striker.
Opta, however, has now given Tottenham a ranking amongst the best teams in the world ahead of the Premier League season kicking off.
The Opta Power Rankings is a global team ranking system that assigns an ability score to over 13,500 men’s domestic football teams on a scale between zero and 100, where zero is the worst-ranked team in the world and 100 is the best.
Tottenham have received their ranking and find themselves 30th with a 91.0 score. That leaves them nine scores away from Arsenal, who are the highest-ranked English side with a 100.0 score.

Spurs must climb rankings with improved league finish
The 26-27 season will be crucial for Tottenham if they are to improve on their ranking amongst sides in the Premier League.
The Lilywhites are set to kick off their campaign against Brentford on Saturday, August 22 at the Gtech Stadium.
A top-four or top-six finish this season would be enough to see Spurs shoot up the rankings, having been placed 30th in recent weeks.
