The two sides come into this match in search of their first league win this season. Newcastle were held to a 2-2 draw against Liverpool in their last outing, while Spurs suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat against Brentford.

Predicted Tottenham XI vs Newcastle United
Goalkeeper – Antonin Kinsky: The shot-stopper should definitely have done much better for Brentford’s second when he parried Jensen’s strike to the path of Janlet. Hopefully, he has learnt from that and is ready to keep his first clean sheet of the season.
Right-back – Pedro Porro: The World Cup winner made a return to action in the midweek clash against Charlton and should now be set to start from the off on Saturday.
Centre-back – Jan Paul van Hecke: He will certainly be hoping for a quieter encounter after struggling against Brentford last weekend. This time, though, we expect him to line up alongside a familiar face for Tottenham.
Centre-back – Micky van de Ven: Saturday could see the Spurs captain earn his first start of the season in the Premier League after he got a run-out on Wednesday from the bench, where he looked sharp.
Left-back – Andy Robertson: Destiny Udogie remains an option for the left-back spot, and it would not be surprising if he starts there this weekend. However, we do think De Zerbi could look to manage his minutes after he was heavily involved on Wednesday.
Defensive midfielder – Sandro Tonali: De Zerbi confirmed during the week that Tonali will start against Newcastle United this weekend after he missed out against Charlton Athletic. Saturday’s game marks his first game against his former side.
Centre-midfielder – Mateus Fernandes: He has certainly earned a starting spot after several top performances in his last two outings. He did not start against Brentford but, when he came on, was arguably Spurs’ best performer. Against Charlton, he looked absolutely superb in the middle of the pitch and should be set for a first start here in the Premier League.
Centre-midfielder – Conor Gallagher: The midfielder was pretty underwhelming against Brentford in the last league outing. But with James Maddison injured, we do expect to see Gallagher start once more. However, Marmoush has come through the door and could be used here as well.
Right-winger – Savio: De Zerbi has already made clear that Savio is ready for Saturday, and so we expect him to start against the Magpies, and hopefully he can add another goal to his tally. However, it is worth noting that Mohammed Kudus could be an option from the bench after spending the last six months sidelined.
Striker – Richarlison: Dominic Solanke was De Zerbi’s go-to man against Charlton, but given the forward’s fitness issues in recent times, we do expect Richarlison to return to the starting XI on Saturday.
Left-winger – Mathys Tel: He remains Spurs’ number one pick down on the left and we expect him to once more start from the off.
