Savinho has been officially announced as a Tottenham player, and Omar Marmoush is not far behind. But what shirt numbers will they wear?

Tottenham’s performance at Brentford laid bare some of the weaknesses in the squad, namely the lack of firepower up front.

Due to the club’s injury issues, Roberto De Zerbi was forced to start a front three of Richarlison, Mathys Tel and Mikey Moore, which failed to post much of a threat to the Bees backline.

Thankfully for the Italian, attacking reinforcements are on their way, with Savinho officially announced and Omar Marmoush soon expected to complete a move to Tottenham.

What shirt numbers will Savinho and Omar Marmoush wear at Tottenham?

Last week, Spurs confirmed their final squad numbers for the 2026-27 season, and the numbers available to any new arrivals are thus limited.

Of the first 30 squad numbers, only 1, 2, 12, 17, 22, 24, 26 and 27 are available at the moment.

Marmoush wears number 7 at Man City, which is held by Xavi Simons at Tottenham, which is why many expected him to go for 17 at Spurs. However, it is actually Savinho who has snapped up that number for the 2026/27 season.

That likely leaves Marmoush with a choice between 12, 22, 24, and 27, with no one wearing the 26 since the legendary Ledley King. Sticking with the 7 theme, 27 feels most likely for now.

Could Marmoush get the number nine shirt at Spurs?

It has been widely reported that Marmoush’s arrival could open the door for Richarlison to exit Tottenham over the coming days.

The Brazilian wears the number 9 shirt at the moment, which means that the iconic number could go to the Egypt international.

However, De Zerbi has made it clear that Dominic Solanke is a key part of his plans, and given his seniority, he may take the number nine shirt from Richarlison, opening up the 19 for Marmoush.
