Tottenham have been tipped to make a move for Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi despite already bringing in Omar Marmoush and Savio this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a forward in the just‑concluded summer transfer window saw them heavily linked with a move for Bournemouth man Eli Junior Kroupi.
In fact, for most of the summer the versatile attacker was tipped to be Spurs’ number‑one target for the centre‑forward position.
However, a move for the Bournemouth man fell through after he suffered a fractured metatarsal in July and underwent successful surgery that is set to keep him sidelined until late October.
Spurs have since bolstered their attacking ranks with the signings of Omar Marmoush, Savio and Mykhailo Mudryk.
Tottenham’s chances of signing Eli Junior Kroupi in January revealed
Reports do suggest that Tottenham are set to return for Kroupi during the winter window once he returns to fitness.
The youngster was key to Bournemouth’s success in the Premier League last season, as he bagged 13 league goals and helped the Cherries to a sixth‑place finish and a spot in the Europa League.
Bournemouth are also awaiting his return, although they have managed a somewhat difficult start to life in the Premier League this campaign. The Cherries are without a win and find themselves in 15th place.
Football Insider has now revealed that Bournemouth have no plans to sell Eli Junior Kroupi this winter.
Last summer, the Cherries set a rather steep price for Kroupi, whose valuation stood at £80 million. Bournemouth’s valuation is expected to remain the same once more in January.
Arsenal join race as Spurs face stiff competition for Kroupi
Spurs, however, are not alone in their pursuit of Kroupi. North London rivals Arsenal were also keen on the youngster’s signature during the summer.
It is understood that the Gunners are also looking to rekindle their interest in Kroupi, with Football Insider revealing that Arsenal are ahead of Tottenham in the race for the striker.
