Tottenham Hotspur have received some bad news regarding Eli Junior Kroupi, as they contemplate reigniting their interest in the Bournemouth forward in January.
It was widely reported at the start of the summer window that Kroupi was Tottenham’s top striker target, until he suffered a major injury setback.
In fact, TEAMtalk claimed that Spurs were 24 hours away from launching an offer of over £80m for the 20-year-old when he sustained a broken foot, which is expected to keep him out of action for several months.
The same update revealed that De Zerbi remains an admirer of Kroupi and that the Lilywhites could reignite their interest in the forward in January.

However, a deal for Kroupi could prove extremely difficult for Spurs to pull off in the future, as CaughtOffside reveal that Arsenal hold a keen interest in the player.
While the Gunners have ruled out a deadline-day move for the Frenchman, they are expected to revisit the situation when the transfer window reopens in the winter.
Mikel Arteta’s men view Kroupi as a ‘long-term target’ while the report says that Man United and Liverpool are also keeping a close eye on the youngster’s situation.
It thus appears that De Zerbi’s men will face an almighty transfer battle if they wish to sign the former Lorient man in January.

After missing out on Kroupi this summer, the Lilywhites have shelled out £60m to sign Omar Marmoush from Manchester City.
That is on top of the £85m the North Londoners spent to secure the services of his former Man City teammate, Savio.
It thus appears unlikely that Tottenham would be in a position to spend £80m-plus on another forward in mid-season, with big-money additions looking unlikely in the winter after the cash the Lilywhites have splurged over the last few months.
