Juventus have entered the race to sign Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, with competition for the Senegal international’s signature intensifying as the summer window enters its final days.
Pape Matar Sarr has yet to take to the pitch for Tottenham Hotspur this season despite the Lilywhites having already played three matches in all competitions.
Roberto De Zerbi has since revealed the Senegalese midfielder is nursing a minor injury which has kept him out of the squad, although he is not too far from returning to full fitness.
However, his future remains uncertain, with several clubs showing interest in signing Sarr this summer. Speaking about the possibility of Sarr departing this summer, De Zerbi said:
“Pape is good. We have to see in the last days of the transfer market what can happen with him.
“I’ve been very clear with all the players. If you speak clearly you can’t expect surprises. The players who wanted to leave have left. We maybe have some players who want to leave and they are waiting, we are waiting for an offer. You have to feel proud to stay here. It’s an emotional project we are building with new players.”

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has now shared an update on Sarr’s future with a few days left before the summer transfer window slams shut.
Several clubs, including Brentford, Al Ahli, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, are all keen on the Senegal international.
However, according to the journalist, Juventus have now joined the race for the 23-year-old midfielder, and it is explained that the Old Lady are applying strong pressure to find an agreement with Tottenham for Sarr, while contacts are progressing positively.

Fabrizio Romano has now backed up Di Marzio’s reports, confirming that Juventus are advancing in talks to sign Pape Matar Sarr and have submitted a verbal proposal to Tottenham.
Despite Sarr being valued at £35m, the Old Lady are understood to have proposed a loan deal with a buy-option clause that could become mandatory.
The Italian side are advancing in negotiations and have moved ahead of Monaco, Besiktas, and several English clubs in the race.
