A Tottenham Hotspur player is now just one step away from sealing a move to a Premier League rival, after the Lilywhites agreed a deal for his sale.

Spurs have added experience and quality to their backline this summer, with Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke and Andy Robertson being the first three players to arrive through the door.

As expected, some Tottenham defenders have departed, with Radu Dragusin sealing a £21.4m switch to Fiorentina after two-and-a-half years at the North London club.

Another Spurs centre-back is now set to seal a departure from the club without making a single competitive appearance for the Lilywhites.

Tottenham centre-back Luka Vuskovic set for his Brighton medical today

It has been an open secret for the last two weeks that Tottenham have accepted Brighton’s offer for Luka Vuskovic, on the back of his outstanding loan spell at Hamburg last season.

It has now been revealed by Florian Plettenberg that the Croat is set for a medical at the South Coast today ahead of sealing his switch to the Amex Stadium.

The Sky Sports Germany journalist revealed that the Seagulls will pay €53m (£45.2m) plus €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons, with De Zerbi’s men set to retain a 20 per cent sell-on clause on the 19-year-old.

This would make Vuskovic Tottenham’s third biggest sale of all time.

Plettenberg wrote on X: “Today is Luka Vuskovic day at Brighton. Medical and the signing of his contract until 2031 are scheduled. Brighton’s dream signing is set to be finalised today. Transfer fee: around €53m fixed plus €5m in add-ons. Tottenham have also secured a 20% sell-on clause. The deal was negotiated by super agent Pini Zahavi and his team. Fabian Hurzeler has been a key factor.”

Spurs are expected to continue selling talented young players

Vuskovic may not be the only talented youngster to leave the North London club, with reports indicating that Spurs are also willing to cash in on Lucas Bergvall if their asking price is met.

The Lilywhites are hoping to get a bidding war going for the Swede after he informed the club that he wants a fresh challenge.

Additionally, Djed Spence is also being linked with a move away from Tottenham, who are seemingly more willing to trade liberally in the market, as they embark on a new era.
