Archie Gray’s future at Tottenham Hotspur has become the subject of speculation over recent days after Newcastle United expressed an interest in the midfielder.
As Spurs press ahead with ambitious midfield signings, the future of some of the club’s young midfielders has come into question.
It has been widely reported that Lucas Bergvall has asked to leave Tottenham this summer in search of game time, while Pape Sarr also continues to be linked with a move away from Spurs.
Hours ago, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Newcastle United had failed with an offer for Archie Gray, who also found himself struggling for game time under Roberto De Zerbi last season.

Journalist denies Newcastle offer for Tottenham’s Archie Gray
The Standard’s Sam Tabuteau has taken to social media to deny Romano’s claim about the 20-year-old Tottenham star.
The journalist revealed sources at Spurs have denied receiving any offer for Gray, either from Newcastle or any other club.
Tabuteau wrote on X: “Spurs sources deny there has been a bid from Newcastle for Archie Gray. They say that no offer has been received.”
According to various reports, Spurs have already assured Gray that he is an important part of their plans, with the player not concerned about his role under De Zerbi.
The coaching staff at Tottenham are reportedly convinced that the youngster could be a cornerstone of the club’s project in the future.
Newcastle and Spurs are nearing a transfer agreement
While the Magpies and the Lilywhites may not be holding talks over Gray, they have certainly been negotiating over another midfielder.
Reports indicate that Tottenham are now attempting to finalise a deal with Newcastle for the transfer of Sandro Tonali, who has agreed personal terms with the North London club.
In fact, some reliable journalists have hinted over recent hours that Tonali may be on the cusp of joining Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
