Tottenham are set to be without six players for their Carabao Cup round‑three clash against Liverpool at Anfield, although they do have one major injury boost.

Tottenham Hotspur’s focus is now set on the Carabao Cup, with a clash against Liverpool next at Anfield in round three of the competition.

The Lilywhites have their backs against the wall here and will have to dig deep to get a result on the Reds’ home turf, having yet to taste a victory there since 2011.

However, solace can be taken from Spurs’ record against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, where they have won five of their last ten meetings with the Reds.

Tottenham injury update as seven players miss out but one returns

Unfortunately, heading into Tuesday’s game, Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi has a couple of injury problems to worry about, with seven Spurs players set to miss out.

The usuals remain out for this encounter, with Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert still sidelined with ACL injuries.

However, a return for the Tottenham pair is not too far off, with Odobert set to return later this year, while Simons has a return pencilled in for early next year.

Dejan Kulusevski is another who is expected to miss out against Liverpool. The Swede has been out for over a year after suffering a knee injury back in May 2025.

Kulusevski has since returned to first‑team training, but his actual return date to first‑team action remains unknown. Sweden head coach Graham Potter is hoping the attacking midfielder will be able to make a return this international break.

Short‑term absentees and one return for Spurs

However, aside from the long‑term absentees, Spurs still have a few players out for the short term and are expected to miss out on Tuesday.

Pedro Porro is nursing a muscle problem which kept him out against Everton last weekend and is set to miss out again this midweek.

Sandro Tonali also became the latest sidelined, with De Zerbi revealing the Tottenham midfielder is carrying a knock that is set to keep him out against Liverpool.

Mykhailo Mudryk remains out after hurting his ankle in training last week, and a return has been pencilled in for November after the international break.

Richarlison is also set to miss out, although not for fitness‑related issues. De Zerbi confirmed that even though the Brazilian is eligible to play, he will not be calling on him on Tuesday.

However, it is not all gloom on the injury front. Destiny Udogie, who missed out against Everton, is back and is in contention to start against Liverpool.
