Pedro Porro was given a special reception by his Tottenham Hotspur teammates and staff as he returned to Hotspur Way following Spain’s historic World Cup triumph.
With less than 10 days to go before the Premier League campaign begins, Roberto De Zerbi now has his entire squad back at Hotspur Way after several players were given extended breaks following their involvement at the World Cup.
A couple of those players will not be returning, with Djed Spence and club captain Cristian Romero having completed moves to Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid respectively, with official confirmation from Tottenham expected soon.
Pedro Porro could also have been among those heading elsewhere this summer, with the Spain international attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Thankfully for Spurs, the club managed to tie him down to a new contract until 2030 while he was away at the tournament in the United States.
It turned out to be a brilliant decision as Porro went on to play a crucial role in Spain’s historic World Cup triumph.
