Tottenham Hotspur supporters have now reacted to the latest reports linking the club with a move for Sandro Tonali, with opinion among the fanbase appearing divided.

Spurs Web has since revealed Fabrizio Romano’s comments, which stated that Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be one of the busier sides in the summer transfer window.

Thus far, Tottenham have completed the signings of Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, but the feeling is that there is more to come.

We have seen Tottenham linked with the likes of Savinho and Jan Paul van Hecke as they look to equip Roberto De Zerbi with all he needs next season.

Reports also claim that Tottenham’s midfield is going to be strengthened as they remain keen on bolstering their ranks.

Tottenham enters the race for Sandro Tonali

New reports from Fabrizio Romano now claim that Tottenham have entered the race to sign Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali.

It is explained that Tonali is open to a move to Spurs despite interest from the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal.

Tonali is also said to be attracted by the project and wants to play under Roberto De Zerbi, as the pair share a close connection, even without European football.

However, Tottenham would have to smash their club-record transfer fee to land the midfielder, with a deal likely to cost around £85m.

Spurs fans who have caught wind of the latest reports have now shared their reaction on social media, with many delighted by the links and urging the club to get a deal done. One fan said: “Finishing 17th back to back and still pulling Tonali🤣🤣 no wonder everyone wanted us to go down.”

Another added: “We are actually f**king massive, it’s insane.”

A third supporter contributed: “De Zerbi will take us far this year. Won’t be surprised if we win the EPL. He took Brighton to UEL, now he has got a team with money so the signings he makes will be Prem-proven only since no Europe for us. I support PSG but my EPL team is Tottenham. COYS!!!”

Another simply stated: “I’ll believe it when he holds a shirt.”

One supporter, however, was not entirely convinced, stating: “Doubtful. We can’t compete against top clubs unfortunately.”

While another fan recalled: “Remember when Eze wanted to join but we pi**ed about and Arsenal signed him within a day? Yeah, that’ll happen again.”

With Tottenham having to compete with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City, it will be far from straightforward to land a player like Tonali, given the competition.

Last season, we saw how things turned out with Eberechi Eze when Spurs were keen and came close to agreeing a deal, only for Arsenal to swoop in for the Crystal Palace man.

While it is easy to get excited, getting carried away is something fans will want to guard against until a deal is signed.

Interest in Tonali could also mean that Spurs are perhaps not looking to sign Joao Palhinha permanently amid interest from Sporting CP, with the Portuguese midfielder set to return to Bayern Munich after his loan spell in north London.
