Tottenham Hotspur star Xavi Simons has shown his true colours with a touching gesture during the club’s pre-season friendly against Getafe on Saturday.
Last month, the social media platform, Grassroots, announced the tragic passing of 11-year-old George Dennis, who played for Ongar Juniors U12s.
George, whose whole family supports Spurs, was in a crash on Epping Road on the afternoon of July 10 and was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, which he later succumbed to.
A few weeks ago, Xavi offered George’s family the opportunity to join him and his family in his box at any upcoming Spurs game of their choice.

Football.London have now revealed that the attacking midfielder invited the Dennis family to watch the behind-closed-doors friendly against Getafe at Hotspur Way.
The 11-year-old’s cousin, who witnessed the accident, was among the members invited to the training ground, and got an opportunity to watch Roberto De Zerbi’s men step up their preparations for the new season.
The family were also given a tour of Hotspur Way by Xavi, who gifted the kids Tottenham jerseys and a pair of boots while he got George’s parents some flowers.
The report also reveals that over £113,000 has been raised by members of the public to support the family following their tragedy last month.

This gesture by Xavi shows how much of a gentleman he is, and the fact that he has gone above and beyond will not be lost on Tottenham fans.
The Dutchman promised Spurs fans they are going to see a ‘new Xavi’ next season, when he returns from injury.
The 22-year-old has been stepping up his rehabilitation through the summer, and De Zerbi will be hoping that the attacking midfielder is ready to return sooner rather than later.
