Tottenham Hotspur may be getting closer to finding a buyer for Guglielmo Vicario, as Juventus’ manager is now pushing for the goalkeeper to be signed.
Inter Milan have now pulled out of the race for the Spurs goalkeeper, but over the last few weeks, another Italian club has emerged as a potential destination for the 29-year-old.
Vicario had been added to Juventus’ wishlist, but he is not the only goalkeeper on the Bianconeri’s radar.
Juve were reportedly set to choose between the Tottenham star and Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez, and they are now leaning firmly towards one of those options.

Juventus pursuit of Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario could heat up ‘at any moment’
Sportmediaset explain that the Villans’ asking price of €15m (£13m) has caused a hold-up in the Old Lady’s pursuit of Martinez.
As a result, Vicario’s candidacy for Juve’s number one role is ‘rising’. While Tottenham value the Italian goalkeeper at €15m to €20m (£13m-£17.3m), the Spurs man is demanding significantly lower wages than the Argentine.
It is suggested that the Bianconeri’s deal for Vicario can heat up ‘at any moment’ as a result, with manager Luciano Spalletti keen on reuniting with the former Empoli man, with whom he worked closely during his time in charge of the Italian national side.
The report adds that what makes Vicario more attractive to the Italian club is the fact that he is four years younger than Martinez, while also having already made his mark in Serie A.
Another Serie A club could enter Vicario race
SportsMediaset also say that the Tottenham star is keen on returning to his home country after three years in North London.
However, there is no guarantee that the Bianconeri will have a free run at the goalkeeper, with another Serie A club also exploring a move for the experienced shot-stopper.
It has emerged over recent days that Napoli are also interested in Vicario and could make a move for the Spurs man if they offload both Alex Meret and Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
